Great brush hog
Perfect for my land. Easy to use and very impressive for the price.

This Machine IS a Real Beast!
I had been looking for a machine to clear about 7 years of heavy brush growth from nearly 4 acres consisting mainly of thorny blackberries and vines including honeysuckles. Also mixed in were a large number of small saplings. The field was overgrown to the point you could not walk through it and with vines at 5' - 6' tall, you couldn't really drive a tractor hauling a bush hog. Terrain ranged from fairly level to inclines steep enough that they are difficult to climb on foot.
I had looked at several competing brands, but none had the combination of cutting width and horsepower of the 36BB for the price point. Even the lower powered name brand competitor was more expensive.
Upon delivery (truck with liftgate) and adding a few gallons of gas, the machine started easily. I first tested it in a 3/4 acre field of basically tall grasses and small trees. An hour later, the field was nearly cleared. The hydrostatic drive takes some getting used to and maneuvering this machine will give you a workout, but the results are worth the effort.
Then I tackled the bigger fields and found the same decent results. If it can get over the brush, it cuts it to nearly nothing the way a mulching mower would. The biggest problem I had was keeping the cut vines that had fallen crosswise from blocking forward movement. If I could avoid that, progress was swift. I was surprised at how easily it would climb the hills even while cutting moderate brush.
The biggest problem I had was using reverse. This machine does not back up well if you're on any kind of incline. That may be just an adjustment in the drive system though. Another problem was that I pulled one of the tires partially off the rim. At nearly 500 lbs, I needed a floor jack to remove the wheel and repair the tire. This would probably be better off with some sort of filled or solid tire.
Fuel pressure built up in the tank while inside a shed during a hot summer to the point that it dislodged the outlet at the bottom of the tank which was just a plastic 1/4 barbed fitting. I replaced that with a brass fitting and nut and drilled a small vent hole in the gas cap and have had no further problems.
A word of caution - this is basically a self propelled bush hog and can be dangerous if used carelessly. Make sure no one is in front of the machine while in use due to ejected debris.
This Beast handled the task quite well and now I will probably only have to cut these fields once or twice a year to keep them under control. -
Good product, hard to get used to steering.
Very good product. Turn down engine speed no problem with belt. Once you get the hang of the steering ease of use goes up, will get stuck so a come along comes in handy. I have cut down very large brush if it will climb up the tree/bush it will cut it down. I had to make slight adjustment to the hydro-steer. Wish I had two of them. Oh and I wish it cut the stumps down a little lower.

The Brush Beast is a beast! I’m in South Florida around the Big Cypress, the beast eats right through the brush! Only negative I can find is the back tires need to be taller. It’s a great machine!!!

What a Beast
I bought this mower because it has the best value with all the bonus accessories and features. Overall it's an excellent mower. I had some delay in delivery, but the customer service was excellent in helping me remedy these issues quickly. Thank you to the shipper for bearing the extra cost!

This brush mower certainly gets the job done and has a good heavy duty feel about it.
It has performed flawlessly for the last 4 years. I've used it on a couple of properties that I own as well as my own home. There were many manufacturers to choose from and many different types of mowers that were less money. But in the long run I have been happy that I spent a little more and invested in the Beast Brand. I get compliments all the time from people on how nice my yard looks. -
A real beast
I have used several different brush mowers and the Brush Beast is by far the best.I was finally able to get it to almost stall out when I ran it over a group of 5 saplings all about 3 to 4 inches in diameter. This thing just chewed it up. I couldn't believe it. I thought for sure something was going to be broken. After careful inspection there was not even a scratch on the blades. I have never seen anything like it. It can be a little dangerous if you get yourself pinned between the brush beast and a tree but the auto cutoff saves the day. The videos about this machine really don't do it justice. If they would have filmed what I did with it yesterday there stock would go up.

this mower just kept chomping away at the saplings, thick vines, poison ivy, poison oak and other nastiness. One advantage of this size mower is that it can get between trees where a tractor cannot.
All-in-all, this mower is a beast of a machine! -
It's A Beast Alright
I read some of the reviews and have not seen any issues with mine. Wow, this has been an awesome brush mower. I looked at the DR mower and this would put the DR mower to shame. I have been clearing our 10 acre lot to build a house on it and have not seen it bogging down. Keep in mind that this is NOT a finish mower, it's to cut brush, although I was told you buy a finish deck kit separately. This was defiantly worth the money

Powerful mower
You couldn't ask for a better mower for the price range. Handles well and gets the job done. The company who makes it has very helpful people who are very nice on the phone.
