Made big mistake on size of branch funnel size,my fault as I ordered on line because Home Depot did not have any at store to choose from ! small insert real problem for convenience.
CH6 destroys yard waste. Easy to assemble. 4 stars only because some of the documentation was irrelevant, i.e., a book for the a different motor than the unit I have. Spent 15 minutes w that book before moving on to the one that had assembly instructions.
Manual says blade can dull after heavy use. Easy to access and sharpen. Checked blade after use. Still very sharp.
It's a bit of work getting limbs w lots of branches in chute. Use loppers to trim limb 1st or buy the 1200 dollar model.
Assembly instructions somewhat cryptic but unit works well for intended home use. Started on first pull. Easy to overfill with oil, so do it over something absorbent. Excellent sale price and appears sturdy, yet easy to move.
This chipper will chip up anything that fits in the feeder. I bought this chipper because I was sick of having to cut up and tie any brush/branches I have into a small bundle. This is the only way the yard waste service that my city uses will pick it up. I only have a 1/2 acre but its full of fruit trees that I will prune every year that creates a surprising amount of chip-able branches. While I still have to cut the branches so they can be feed into the machine its not nearly as much cutting as it was when i would have to bundle them and take them to the street. Plus you get the wood chips that can be used for around the trees. Overall I am very satisfied with this chipper and would recommend for any homeowner who has a decent amount chipping to do every year.
Chipper was easy to assemble and is easy to move. It will get much use this fall as we trim hedges.
Nice machine. Shipping box was in tatters when it got here. Holes in the plasticdid not line up well with fittings on the metal bits, 2 of them were welded in on an angle... Gased up, filled with oil and started on the first pull, wife dislikes how hard the pull is.
Awesome chipper shredder! I received my chipper shredder and it took me about 20 minutes for assembly. Instructions were straight forward. I don't understand the other reviewers having assembly problems but I am very mechanically inclined. Filled with recommended oil and gasoline. Started on the first pull. Machine is very aggressive. Went through around 12 tree limbs 2 inches in diameter like a hot knife through butter. Machine didn't even bog down, just chewed up the limbs, spit out nice small chips and smiled for more. I used a plastic ice/snow shovel and shoveled about 17 hefty scoops of a mixture of hedge trimmings, leaves, weeds and discharged the chips on the ground. By the looks of the chips you would have never guessed I shredded 17 scoops. Barely covered the ground. I am very pleased with my purchase and hope to put this little darling to good use for years to come.
I was doubtful it could handle bamboo, but it performed well within its rated capacity.
Took longer to assemble than instructions indicated. Otherwise the unit is easy to use and it does everything as advertised.
Easy to assemble. Started on the first pull. Used it several times . After reading some horror reviewsI was well satisfied with its operation. Good Machine Mike M
Assembly wasn't too bad, putting on the leaf funnel was a bit hassle. Three items in design I didn't like the oil location is difficult to get to a see how much oil is filled. Secondly if the large feeder becomes jammed you have to remove the entire leaf feeder funnel, that's 8 bolts, and yes if your not careful the nut can drop into the bottom where the blades are. Yes this was disappointing. Finally the exit funnel only goes up-down would be nice to move right-left. Other than that it starts great. Small twigs don't get mulched much but larger branches are fed easily. Have not used the leaf mulched.
This thing is a beast. I had a whole mess of brush and thick branches waiting for me to deal with, as I had been putting it off because of the sheer amount. I ordered the Brush Master, it arrived fairly quickly, set it up in about a half an hour and I was off. Mulched everything that I feed it!
