Product Description
The entry level model in Brush Master chipper shredder family, this chipper comes with a 6.5 HP engine. This innovative chipper is designed with an adjustable deflector. preformed very good
this unit was easy to assemble, starts very easy, only used once, really like the way it works, can be overloaded if material is not put in at a even rate. takes about 45 min to set up fill with oil and fuel. all parts and wrenches included, execpt for oil. this unit should work well for home owner with light to medium demand. not a heavy duty unit
be sure to sta-bil the fuel if not used every month. -
Makes quick work of yard waste
This does a great job reducing leaves and brush to mulch. No directions to find the oil fill port - and it is sort of hidden. Takes a man's strength to start the engine - but not many pulls. Runs smooth. Putting leaves into the feed bin takes longer than you might hope because of the shielding against kick-back off the cutting blades - but its for your protection.
Please note: instructions tell you NOT to cut green, non-woody stemmed plants (like tomato vines). Despite this, I cut up green brussels sprouts and found that the resulting wet material adhered to the top of the output shoot. I probably need to inspect the entire insides for adhered gunk - be forewarned!
My primary problem with the device is that the velocity of the mulched material exiting the output shoot is so great that it is impossible to contain that material in a garbage can or bag. So, I must wheel the device to where I want the mulch, bring the material to it, blast the mulch onto the ground and then spread it around. Not so terrible a problem at my scale - but at yours?
In summary, for what I paid, I feel that I am getting a very solid, well-made, effective solution that will serve me for years to come. -
Works almost perfectly
This chipper took everything I threw at it for four straight days - and I really pushed it. Starts easy enough, doesn't burn through gas, and never got clogged unless I got hasty. Take your time, and you'll have no problems - even with damp leaves and branches. The only reason I didn't give it a total 5 was the lack of towing ability with my tractor, but I knew that going in. Other than that, perfect for medium use. Chewed through six foot branches at max diameter in about 4 seconds.
